that's not a girlfriend. that's a GIRLFIEND. she wants to chainsaw your head off and feed it to the locals.

it's simple but it's kinda funny. how the fuck did you render a goth gf as a flattened stereotypical coffin?

pInkmoth responds:

blender magic :)

very good watercolour. you already explain everything about this piece of art in the description. and yes, it's a giant fucking wasteland. some people manage to get on some very tall pillars indeed without even lifting a finger. some were born there. you seem to be getting knocked off by accident and also through the actions of spiteful or uncaring fools.

you managed to overcome your depression and make this. don't feel bad - it's not something a stupid kid would do. but if you still think you're useless, charge through your depression and take on something you fear (as long as you can get out alive and learn something in the process). don't feel guilty - just get on with shit and experiment. be as merry as you can. few can do it. (i can't.) i want you to be one of those who can.

YourGuyIsa responds:

Means a lot man, thanks<3

how long did this take you?! this would take me a lifetime!

i'll be honest: i'm not gonna bother reading the book. i've got far too much on my plate and so much to do and study - it's too big and long-term of an investment for me. but even if your writing's dogshit (i don't know, but given the rest of your efforts, i bet it isn't) - writing a book, plucking something from each of the 40 chapters of the book, 3D-modelling some of them, and then drawing the rest as well as tracing the models and adding details just ain't something that a lot of people can do. your drawing style works really well too - i like the thin and tastefully-spaced lines, which makes it look like a well-thought-out notebook sketch. someone should give you a lot of money for that. five stars isn't enough.

i wish you well in your years ahead. i'm only a voice on the internet, but i hope that my encouragement helps you.

Intrapath responds:

It took a while, that's for sure! I worked on it here and there so it's hard to say, but 100 hours might be a decent estimate from start to finish. And that's totally fair when it comes to reading the book itself, no worries! And your encouragement more than makes up for it - it's always really awesome to read comments like these. Means a lot that you took the time to write them out, and to check the art out! Thanks so much!

who's this handsome evil bloke? i'd love to skin him and wear his face!

messy and nicely textured. good use of colour given the rugged aesthetic i think you were going for. could use a lot more grain and mess.

horrorboyog responds:

I this on a piece of cardboard fun fact i guess but thank you for the comment

YOU BEAT ME AT MY OWN GAME!

so much i appreciate about this. the blurring and chromatic aberrations on this one makes me feel weird. brutal textures, probably a rorschach pattern involved in there somewhere. violent and turbulent smearing everywhere with some gory noise. the fucking thing seems so damn deep that it's like the black-and-white's obscuring my vision and there's some ghostly figure in the background who can't wait to pounce and scare the shit out of me (i think i'll traumatise that guy myself though). definitely a head-turner. HOW DARE YOU CALL YOURSELF A BOTTOM-SHELF ARTIST.

PreschoolDropout responds:

It's mostly just a light hearted comment about myself but thank you was not expecting this kind of reaction at all but I'm extremely glad to hear that it evokes something in you.

great rendition of what seem like a mysterious character (as far as a quick skim-read over https://hylics.fandom.com/wiki/Wayne goes). you even remade the abstract background at that game over screen. good merging of your janky style and the one from the game.

KeithRedpole616 responds:

Hey thank you so much, i appreciate the comment

could do a lot better. i guess you have much to learn (and i can teach you a few things if you want). i don't mean that in a passive-aggressive sense - if you're young, it's good to experiment, but don't treat this as a final resting spot for your skill.

i have a feeling the jaggies on the curves are due to the limitations of m$ paint, and that you didn't choose those but just settled with them instead as if it wouldn't add anything to the art. you specifically mentioned m$ paint, but i wonder if you use anything else.

i take it you thought of a hot day on desert road with hanging power cables nearby while listening to the song you that mention in the description, but to me it smacks of 70s design more than anything else. i don't think that's what you wanted. please correct me if i'm wrong.

but i do see that you wanted to pull something off with the radiating ellipses in the top two corners. try it again.

PizzaRellaGameJolt responds:

Thank you for the review!
Yes, I only use MS Paint at the moment, but I am planning on using other platforms soon.
And I agree, this could be better.
Also, I'm not gonna tell you my intention for this piece. I like to let people guess on their own, see what they think.

was it EEEEEEEEEEEEE? (if you know the joke, seek immediate medical assistance.)

i think the hotel isn't just crumbling - someone thanos-snapped it too! you wanted something familiar yet dreamy and a bit screwed up, and you went and made it. i like this painting effect - it makes it look like a heavily-processed blurred photo. there's weird and subtle lines in the clouds which seem unsettling, at least to me. the lines follow the perspective of the buildings. the ghostly faces of columns in the centre seem to form a visually-explicit rendition of a fading memory.

i would've added some red to reflect the story - i don't see any red at all besides some faint rusty tint in the foliage at the bottom of the image (not counting the white border with text in it).

inimicaldeity responds:

i love your take! i prefer my audience to take the meaning however they please so i won't explain anything but i appreciate the enthusiasm and interest very much, regards, 本橋

clever use of basic shapes in this! minimalistic (apart from the contour lines), but i'm sure it took you ages and/or you took a very long time to learn how to do this.

bet she's hopping mad without her leg though.

Timepool responds:

Thank you for the kind words!

cursed? i looked in it for 12 minutes already and all i saw was a distorted face. i want my money back?

simple, dark, great red tinges to the dark yellow sludge, really fucked up. MORE PLEASE.

vile machine spitting out failed online camouflage patterns; take no notice unless you're a masochist or an explorer. all my 'works' are free to abuse because they're shit.

BEHIND YOU. LAUGH.
